A film is about the residents of Poliske. This town was contaminated with radioactive material after the 1986 Chornobyl disaster, and its residents were left out to face this hazard. Soviet authorities did everything they could to erase the ancient history of this town, and after Chernobyl, they destroyed its future. The contaminated town was not evacuated up until 1993. The information about the scale of contamination was suppressed by the KGB. This film reconstructs a human portrait of this lost town through conversations with illegal settlers, evacuees, historians, and liquidators of the Chernobyl disaster.
